Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 38:2212.6

  • Emergency: means an unforeseen mischance bringing with it destruction or injury of life or property or the imminent threat of such destruction or injury or as the result of an order from any judicial body to take any immediate action which requires construction or repairs absent compliance with the formalities of this Part, where the mischance or court order will not admit of the delay incident to advertising as provided in this Part. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, any public procurement unit may procure materials, supplies, equipment, and services related to homeland security from federal General Services Administration supply schedules. Such purchases shall:

(1)  Utilize a Louisiana distributor.

(2)  Use the competitive ordering procedures of the federal General Services Administration.

(3)  Receive prior approval from the director of the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness1, or his designee.
