Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
state: means :

(1) a state, possession, territory, or commonwealth of the United States; or

(2) the District of Columbia. See

A provision of a contract that is made between a sales representative and a principal is void if the provision purports to waive any provision of this subtitle by:

(1) an express waiver; or

(2) a contract subject to the laws of another state.
