Terms Used In Massachusetts General Laws ch. 190B sec. 5A-202

  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.

Part 2 of this Article provides the exclusive jurisdictional basis for a court of the commonwealth to appoint a guardian or issue a protective order for an adult.
