  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories.    All roads under the jurisdiction of the board of county road commissioners in each of the several counties of the state not included in the county primary system as finally approved shall be certified to and reviewed and approved or deleted by the state highway commissioner in the same manner as provided in section 2 hereof for the county primary road system and when finally approved by the state highway commissioner shall constitute and be the county local road system of that county, which may thereafter be added to or deleted from in the same manner as provided in section 3 of this act for the county primary road system.
