Terms Used In Michigan Laws 752.102

  • Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
  • person: may extend and be applied to bodies politic and corporate, as well as to individuals. See Michigan Laws 8.3l
   Any person, partnership, association or corporation, or officer or agent thereof, who shall be found guilty of a violation of the provisions of section 1 of this act, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine not exceeding 100 dollars, or imprisonment not exceeding 90 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment, in the discretion of the court.
