Terms Used In Michigan Laws 772.13

  • Clerk: means the clerk or a deputy clerk of the court. See Michigan Laws 761.1
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
   The clerk of the court shall file a true copy of a peace bond issued under this chapter with the law enforcement agency or agencies having jurisdiction of the area in which the complainant resides or works.
