Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 13:1E-200

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. No person shall dispose of a used lead acid battery as solid waste at any time. Any person seeking to discard a used lead acid battery may deliver the used lead acid battery to:

a. a retailer of lead acid batteries, or a distributor or manufacturer engaged in the sale at wholesale of lead acid batteries;

b. a secondary lead smelter;

c. a scrap processing facility at which used lead acid batteries are received, stored, processed or transferred for the purposes of recycling; or

d. a household hazardous waste collection site established pursuant to a county household hazardous waste collection program.
