- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. Any person who shall knowingly and willfully perform, commit or do, or participate in performing, committing or doing, or who shall knowingly and willfully cause, participate or join with others in causing any public utility company to do, perform or commit, or who shall advise, solicit or persuade, or knowingly and willfully instruct, direct or order any officer, agent or employee of any public utility company to perform, commit or do any act or thing forbidden or prohibited by this chapter or by sections 48:3-1 to 48:3-7, 48:3-9, 48:3-10 or 48:12-90 of this title, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
