Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes 143-64.23

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the said district and territories and all dependencies. No disbursement of State funds shall be made and no such contract shall be binding until the provisions of N.C. Gen. Stat. § 143-64.21 and 143-64.22 have been complied with. Any employee or official of the State of North Carolina who violates this Article shall be liable to repay any amount expended in violation of this Article, plus court costs. (1975, c. 887, s. 4.)
