Terms Used In Tennessee Code 40-11-101
- Bail: Security given for the release of a criminal defendant or witness from legal custody (usually in the form of money) to secure his/her appearance on the day and time appointed.
Sections 40-11-101 – 40-11-144 shall be known as and may be cited as the “Release from Custody and Bail Reform Act of 1978.”
