(a) The department shall develop management standards for used oil recycling and collection. Such standards shall comply with all rules and regulations of the federal environmental protection agency but shall not exceed such rules and regulations.

  • Department: means the department of environment and conservation. See Tennessee Code 68-211-1002
  • Used oil: means any oil which has been refined from crude or synthetic oil and, as a result of use, becomes unsuitable for its original purpose due to loss of original properties, or presence of impurities, but which may be suitable for further use and may be economically recyclable. (b) The underground storage tanks and solid waste disposal control board is authorized to promulgate rules and regulations to effectuate the purposes of this part. All such rules and regulations shall be promulgated in accordance with the Uniform Administrative Procedures Act, compiled in title 4, chapter 5.
