78A-6-452. Costs and expenses of trial.
(1) |
Except as provided in Subsection (2), the state shall pay, when approved by the court, the cost of publication of a summons, the expense of a trial, and any other fee or expense of a trial of an adult under this part. |
Terms Used In Utah Code 78A-6-452
- Public defender: Represent defendants who can't afford an attorney in criminal matters.
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- Summons: Another word for subpoena used by the criminal justice system.
- Trial: A hearing that takes place when the defendant pleads "not guilty" and witnesses are required to come to court to give evidence.

The county where the hearing or trial is held shall pay the prosecution costs and public defender costs. |
