Terms Used In Vermont Statutes Title 13 Sec. 396

  • Animal: means all living sentient creatures, not human beings. See
  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
  • Person: means any individual, firm, partnership, or corporation, or authorized agent or representative of a person, partnership, or corporation. See
  • Secretary: means the Secretary of Agriculture, Food and Markets. See

§ 396. Appeal

Any person aggrieved by a finding and order or penalty of the Secretary under this subchapter may appeal to the Superior Court in the county in which the animal pulling contest or competitive event was held. (Added 1989, No. 270 (Adj. Sess.), § 2; amended 2003, No. 42, § 2, eff. May 27, 2003.)
