Except if the retailer or distributor disclaims the warranty in the manner prescribed by ORS § 72.8010 to 72.8200, on every sale or consignment for sale of a consumer good sold at retail in this state by a retail dealer or distributor who has reason to know at the time of the retail sale that the good is required for a particular purpose, and that the buyer relies on the retailer’s or distributor’s skill or judgment to select or furnish a suitable good, the retailer or distributor gives the retailer’s or distributor’s implied warranty of fitness for that purpose.
