• board: means any entity listed in Section 101, the entities referred to in Sections 1000 and 3600, the State Bar, the Department of Real Estate, and any other state agency that issues a license, certificate, or registration authorizing a person to engage in a business or profession. See California Business and Professions Code 31
• Consumer: means any individual who seeks or acquires, by purchase or lease, any goods, services, money, or credit for personal, family, or household purposes. See California Business and Professions Code 302
• County: includes "city and county. See California Welfare and Institutions Code 14
• custody: means the legal right to custody of the child unless that right is held jointly by two or more persons, in which case "custody" means the physical custody of the child by one of the persons sharing the right to custody. See California Welfare and Institutions Code 17.1
• Department: means the Department of Consumer Affairs. See California Business and Professions Code 302
• Director: means the Director of the Department of Consumer Affairs. See California Business and Professions Code 302
• Division: means the Division of Consumer Services. See California Business and Professions Code 302
• person subject to judicial commitment: means a person who may be judicially committed under this part as a mentally disordered sex offender pursuant to Article 1 (commencing with Section 6331), a sexually violent predator pursuant to Article 4 (commencing with Section 6600), or a person with intellectual disabilities pursuant to Article 2 (commencing with Section 6500) of Chapter 2. See California Welfare and Institutions Code 6250
• Spouse: includes "registered domestic partner" as required by §. See California Welfare and Institutions Code 12.2
• Testify: Answer questions in court.
