Terms Used In Texas Education Code 107.63
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Person: includes corporation, organization, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, and any other legal entity. See Texas Government Code 311.005
- Real property: Land, and all immovable fixtures erected on, growing on, or affixed to the land.
The board may sell or encumber any part of real property owned by the system for the purpose of obtaining funds with which to erect and equip these improvements or for the purpose of securing the payment of its obligations issued to any person, firm, or corporation for the erecting or equipping of these improvements.
