(a) An application under this subchapter must:
(1) be under oath; and
(2) contain the information required by § 1351.002(b).
(b) For purposes of Subsection (a)(2), references in § 1351.002(b) to “minor” are replaced with references to “ward.”

Terms Used In Texas Estates Code 1351.053

  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
  • Venue: The geographical location in which a case is tried.
  • Ward: means a person for whom a guardian has been appointed. See Texas Estates Code 22.033

(c) Venue for the application is the same as venue for an application for the appointment of a guardian for the ward.
