Terms Used In Texas Insurance Code 4054.151

  • Annuity: A periodic (usually annual) payment of a fixed sum of money for either the life of the recipient or for a fixed number of years. A series of payments under a contract from an insurance company, a trust company, or an individual. Annuity payments are made at regular intervals over a period of more than one full year.

A funeral prearrangement life insurance agent is a life insurance agent who, subject to the limitations of this subchapter, writes only life insurance policies and fixed annuity contracts to secure the delivery of funeral services and merchandise under prepaid funeral contracts regulated by the Texas Department of Banking under Chapter 154, Finance Code.
