June twelfth of each year is hereby designated as “Women Veterans Appreciation Day”. Citizens of this state are encouraged to engage in appropriate events and activities to recognize and address disparities in care, recognition, and benefits that our women veterans receive; to highlight the growing presence of women in the Armed Forces and the National Guard; and to pay respect to women veterans for their dutiful military service.
