Terms Used In Nevada Revised Statutes 683A.377

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.

1.  An authorized insurer;

2.  A fraternal benefit society that is certified pursuant to chapter 695A of NRS;

3.  A nonprofit corporation for hospital, medical or dental services that is certified pursuant to chapter 695B of NRS;

4.  A health maintenance organization that is certified pursuant to chapter 695C of NRS; or

5.  An organization for dental care that is certified pursuant to chapter 695D of NRS, which performs its own utilization review. This section does not limit the applicability of NRS 683A.375 to 683A.379, inclusive, to affiliates and subsidiaries of such entities or to contracts between such entities and independent agents who perform utilization review.
