The secretary of energy, minerals and natural resources may pay annual membership dues to the Interstate Mining Compact commission out of fees collected under the Surface Mining Act [N.M. Stat. Ann. Chapter 69, Article 25A] or from funds granted to the state by the federal office of surface mining reclamation and enforcement of the department of the interior.
