Terms Used In Alabama Code 11-48-36
- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
- circuit: means judicial circuit. See Alabama Code 1-1-1
- person: includes a corporation as well as a natural person. See Alabama Code 1-1-1
Any person aggrieved by the decision in making any assessment may, within 20 days thereafter, appeal to the circuit court upon executing a bond in double the amount of the probable cost of the appeal.
