Terms Used In Alabama Code 18-1A-285
- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
- Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.

In case more than one party appeals or appeal is taken against more than one, there shall be separate bonds given for each tract of land involved, as provided in Section damages paid into probate court and bond given” class=”unlinked-ref” datatype=”S” sessionyear=”2020″ statecd=”AL” title=”18″>18-1A-284 to each one so appealing or appealed against.
