(a) It shall be unlawful for any person, municipality, county, political subdivision, governmental agency or department, institution, individual, partnership, corporation, association, other entity or organization to feed garbage to swine.

Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
person: includes a corporation as well as a natural person. See Alabama Code 1-1-1
(b) For the purposes of this section, “garbage” means putrescible animal and vegetable waste resulting from the handling, preparation, cooking and consumption of foods including animal and fowl carcasses or parts thereof; provided, that citrus pulps, pea vines, bakery waste, candy kitchen waste and dairy products waste from milk processing plants shall not be included in this definition when such waste has not been mixed with or in contact with other animal or vegetable waste.(c) This section shall not apply to any person who feeds only his own household garbage to swine.(d) Whoever violates this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not more than $500.00 and, within the discretion of the court, may also be imprisoned for a period not to exceed six months.(e) The provisions of this section shall be enforced by the Department of Agriculture and Industries.
