- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

A fine not to exceed $5,000.00 may be imposed by a court of competent jurisdiction on any person who violates Section 22-23-40, 22-23-41 or 22-23-47 or subdivision (1) or (2) of Section 22-23-48.
