Terms Used In Alabama Code 22-4A-6

  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Alabama Code 1-1-1

The board shall assist in identifying any unmet needs relating to the medically underserved rural areas of the state and any available resources that could be applied toward those needs. The board shall submit an annual report to the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Speaker of the House, chairman of each of the health committees and the State Health Officer of the disbursement of all funds, accomplishments toward meeting the unmet needs in the rural areas and the goals for the next fiscal year.
