- Oversight: Committee review of the activities of a Federal agency or program.
- Testimony: Evidence presented orally by witnesses during trials or before grand juries.
- year: means a calendar year; but, whenever the word "year" is used in reference to any appropriations for the payment of money out of the treasury, it shall mean fiscal year. See Alabama Code 1-1-1
The Joint Legislative Prison Oversight Committee, created in Section 29-2-20, shall meet quarterly to perform its duties, including review and discussion of reports submitted to the committee. At least one meeting each year shall include an opportunity for public testimony.
