Terms Used In Alabama Code 36-11-2

  • Impeachment: (1) The process of calling something into question, as in "impeaching the testimony of a witness." (2) The constitutional process whereby the House of Representatives may "impeach" (accuse of misconduct) high officers of the federal government for trial in the Senate.
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Alabama Code 1-1-1

Any of the officers named in subsection (a) of Section impeachment and removal from office; grounds for impeachment generally” class=”unlinked-ref” datatype=”S” sessionyear=”2020″ statecd=”AL” title=”36″>36-11-1 who shall be disqualified by law from holding office in this state may be impeached and removed from office on proceedings instituted and prosecuted in the manner provided in this chapter.
