Terms Used In Alabama Code 37-8-118

  • circuit: means judicial circuit. See Alabama Code 1-1-1
  • Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • person: includes a corporation as well as a natural person. See Alabama Code 1-1-1

Any officer or agent of a person or corporation operating a railroad who knowingly violates a judgment of the circuit court confirming the public service commission’s award, regulating such railroad’s business with any connecting line, must, on conviction, be fined not less than $10.00 nor more than $500.00.
