Terms Used In Alabama Code 43-2-275

  • Executor: A male person named in a will to carry out the decedent
  • Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Alabama Code 1-1-1
  • United States: includes the territories thereof and the District of Columbia. See Alabama Code 1-1-1

The removal of any resident executor from this state to any other state or territory of the United States shall not be cause for his removal from the office of executor; but, on and after his removal, he shall in all respects be regarded and treated as a nonresident executor, and the provisions of article 8 of this chapter shall be applicable to him. Upon such removal, his sureties may require him to resign and make final settlement of his accounts or give a new bond as such executor.
