Terms Used In Alabama Code 43-2-701
- Executor: A male person named in a will to carry out the decedent
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

Whenever the executor or administrator of any estate is satisfied that the property of the estate is insufficient to pay its debts, he must file with the judge of probate of the court having jurisdiction of the estate a report in writing that such estate is, to the best of his knowledge and belief, insolvent.
