Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 08.26.100

  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.

An individual who engages in the business of providing services as a guardian or conservator may not be appointed as a guardian or a conservator in a court proceeding unless the individual is licensed under this chapter or exempt under Alaska Stat. § 08.26.010 or Alaska Stat. § 08.26.180.
