  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.

Every service corporation shall be subject to examination by the director, with the same rights and powers and in the same manner as is provided in this title for the examination of insurers; and for the purposes thereof Alaska Stat. § 21.06.12021.06.180 shall, to the extent applicable, apply to such a corporation, which, for the purpose of the application shall be considered to be an insurer.
