(a) The commissioner shall keep the exploration activity data provided under Alaska Stat. § 27.30.020 confidential for 36 months after receipt by the department.

  • commissioner: means the commissioner of natural resources. See Alaska Statutes 27.40.010
  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
  • department: means the Department of Natural Resources. See Alaska Statutes 27.40.010
  • person: includes a corporation, company, partnership, firm, association, organization, business trust, or society, as well as a natural person. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
(b) The department is liable in damages to a person who provided the exploration activity data under Alaska Stat. § 27.30.020 if the data is disclosed in violation of (a) of this section.
