- department: means the Department of Administration. See Alaska Statutes 28.90.990
- person: includes a corporation, company, partnership, firm, association, organization, business trust, or society, as well as a natural person. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
- proof of financial responsibility: means an owner's motor vehicle liability policy that covers all vehicles owned by the person that are subject to registration in this state, or if the person does not own a vehicle, proof required under Alaska Stat. See Alaska Statutes 28.20.630
The department shall consent to the cancellation of a bond or certificate of insurance, or the department shall return money or securities to the person entitled to it, upon the substitution and acceptance of other adequate proof of financial responsibility under this chapter.
