(a) The council may

  • state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
(1) hold public and private hearings;
(2) enter into contracts, within the limit of funds available, with individuals, organizations, and institutions for services furthering the strategic objectives of the council’s programs;
(3) enter into contracts, within the limit of funds available, with local and regional associations for cooperative endeavors furthering the strategic objectives of the council’s programs;
(4) accept gifts, contributions, and bequests of unrestricted funds from individuals, foundations, corporations, and other organizations or institutions for the purpose of furthering the strategic objectives of the council’s programs;
(5) make and sign agreements and do and perform any acts necessary to carry out the purposes of Alaska Stat. § 44.27.04044.27.060; and
(6) adopt regulations under Alaska Stat. Chapter 44.62 (Administrative Procedure Act) to carry out the provisions of Alaska Stat. § 44.27.04044.27.060.
(b) The council may request and is entitled to receive from any department, division, board, bureau, commission, or agency of the state the assistance and data that will enable it properly to carry out its powers and duties. The council is authorized to receive state funds made available for its purposes.
