Terms Used In Arizona Laws 23-312

  • Commission: means the industrial commission of Arizona. See Arizona Laws 23-311
  • Employer: means every person, firm, corporation, agent, manager, representative, contractor, subcontractor, principal or other person having control or direction of any minor employed at any labor, or responsible directly or indirectly for the wages of another. See Arizona Laws 23-311
  • Occupation: means any class of work in any industry, trade, business, or branch thereof, in which minors are gainfully employed, but does not include domestic service in the home of an employer or agricultural labor. See Arizona Laws 23-311
  • wages: means any compensation for labor measured by time, piece, or otherwise. See Arizona Laws 23-311

1. Investigate and ascertain the wages of minors employed in any occupation.

2. Enter the place of business or employment of any employer of minors in any occupation for the purpose of examining and inspecting all books, registers, payrolls, and other records of the employer which in any manner pertain to or have a bearing upon the question of wages of minors and for the purpose of ascertaining whether the orders of the commission have been and are being complied with.

3. Require from the employer full and correct written statements of the wages paid to all minors in his employment when the commission or any authorized representative thereof deems necessary.
