A. Beginning July 1, 2014, a person must be an authorized third party driver license training provider to perform driver license training.

Terms Used In Arizona Laws 28-5101.02

  • Authorized third party: means an entity that has executed a written agreement and is authorized by the department to perform limited or specific functions but is not authorized by the department to function as an authorized third party electronic service provider. See Arizona Laws 28-5100
  • Department: means the department of transportation acting directly or through its duly authorized officers and agents. See Arizona Laws 28-101
  • Driver: means a person who drives or is in actual physical control of a vehicle. See Arizona Laws 28-101
  • Driver license: means a license that is issued by a state to an individual and that authorizes the individual to drive a motor vehicle. See Arizona Laws 28-101
  • Person: includes a corporation, company, partnership, firm, association or society, as well as a natural person. See Arizona Laws 1-215

B. A person who applies for authorization pursuant to this section is not required to submit a bond with the application.

C. A third party driver license training provider authorized pursuant to this section must comply with all quality control requirements prescribed by the department.

D. This section does not apply to any professional driver training school licensed pursuant to Title 32, Chapter 23.
