A. The governor, on behalf of this state, may enter into agreements with the federal government providing for discontinuance of certain of the federal government’s responsibilities with respect to sources of radiation and the assumption of the responsibilities by this state.

Terms Used In Arizona Laws 30-656

  • Department: means the department of health services. See Arizona Laws 30-651
  • Person: means any individual, corporation, partnership, firm, association, trust, estate, public or private institution, group, agency or political subdivision of this state, or any other state or political subdivision or agency of such state, and any legal successor, representative, agent, or agency of the foregoing, other than the United States nuclear regulatory commission or any successor, and other than federal government agencies and any other entities licensed by the United States nuclear regulatory commission or any successor.   • Radiation: means :

    (a) Ionizing radiation, including gamma rays, x-rays, alpha and beta particles, high speed electrons, neutrons, protons and other nuclear particles or rays. See Arizona Laws 30-651

B. Any person that, on the effective date of an agreement entered into under subsection A of this section, possesses a license issued by the federal government shall be deemed to possess a like license issued under this chapter, which shall expire either ninety days after receipt from the department of a notice of expiration of the license or on the date of expiration specified in the federal license, whichever is earlier.
