(a) A person who votes or attempts to vote in an election held in this state and in an election held in another state on the same date shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.

(b) This section does not prohibit a voter from voting in an election held in this state and in an election held in another state on the same date if one of the elections is an election in a landowner voting district or any other district for which an elector is not required to be a resident of the district.

Terms Used In California Elections Code 18560.1

  • Election: means any election including a primary that is provided for under this code. See California Elections Code 318
  • Elector: means a person who is a United States citizen 18 years of age or older and, except as specified in subdivision (b), is a resident of an election precinct in this state on or before the day of an election. See California Elections Code 321
  • Voter: means any elector who is registered under this code. See California Elections Code 359
