• legislative body: means board of trustees, city council, or other governing body of a city. See California Government Code 34000
• municipal improvement: includes bridges, waterworks, water rights, sewers, light and power works or plants, buildings for municipal uses, wharves, breakwaters, jetties, seawalls, schoolhouses, fire apparatus, street work, and other works, property, or structures necessary or convenient to carry out the objects, purposes, and powers of the city. • State highway: means any highway which is acquired, laid out, constructed, improved or maintained as a State highway pursuant to constitutional or legislative authorization. See California Streets and Highways Code 24
• State Highway Account: means the State Highway Account in the State Transportation Fund. See California Streets and Highways Code 30
• Transportation enhancement project: means a project constructed or undertaken with funds made available to the state pursuant to Section 133(b)(8) of Title 23 of the United States Code. See California Streets and Highways Code 2370
