As used in this chapter:
(a) “Local agency” means any city, county, city and county, school district, special district, authority, other political subdivision of or within the state, an association or consortium of school districts formed or operating pursuant to § 35179 of the Education Code, or any joint powers authority composed of any of these agencies.
Terms Used In California Government Code 6599.02
- Board: means the original board and any successor board selected and constituted under this chapter. See California Government Code 6599.02
- City: includes "city and county" and "incorporated town" but does not include "unincorporated town" or "village. See California Government Code 20
- County: includes city and county. See California Government Code 19
- Original board: means the first board of directors constituted and selected pursuant to Section 6599. See California Government Code 6599.02
- State: means the State of California, unless applied to the different parts of the United States. See California Government Code 18
- Subdivision: means a subdivision of the section in which the term occurs unless some other section is expressly mentioned. See California Government Code 10
(b) “Original board” means the first board of directors constituted and selected pursuant to Section 6599.06.
(c) “Board” means the original board and any successor board selected and constituted under this chapter.
