The local agency may provide for the issuance of refunding bonds for the purpose of refunding any bonds then outstanding which have been issued under the provisions of this part, including the payment of any redemption premium thereon and any interest accrued or to accrue to the date of redemption of the bonds. The issuance of refunding bonds, the maturities and other details thereof, the rights of the holders thereof, and the rights, duties, and obligations of the local agency in respect of the same shall be governed by the provisions of this part which relate to the issuance of bonds, insofar as the provisions may be appropriate therefor.

Terms Used In California Health and Safety Code 55113
- Bonds: means bonds, notes, or other evidence of indebtedness issued by a local agency pursuant to Part 2 (commencing with Section 55100) of this division, including bonds issued to refund previously issued bonds or other indebtedness. See California Health and Safety Code 55001
- Local agency: means a city, county, or city and county. See California Health and Safety Code 55001
