Nothing contained in this article shall preclude the commissioner from initiating judicial proceedings to place an insurer in conservation, rehabilitation, or liquidation proceedings or other delinquency proceedings, however designated under the laws of this state, regardless of whether the commissioner has previously initiated administrative supervision proceedings under this article against the insurer.

  • Commissioner: means the Insurance Commissioner of this State. See California Insurance Code 20
  • Insurer: means and includes every person engaged as indemnitor, surety, or contractor in the business of entering into contracts of life or disability insurance or of annuities. See California Insurance Code 1077
  • State: means the State of California, unless applied to the different parts of the United States. See California Insurance Code 28
