This Act shall be known as The Penal Code of California, and is divided into four parts, as follows:
I.-OF CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS.
Terms Used In California Penal Code 1
- county: includes "city and county". See California Penal Code 7
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" may include the district and territories. See California Penal Code 7
II.-OF CRIMINAL PROCEDURE.
III.-OF THE STATE PRISON AND COUNTY JAILS.
IV.-OF PREVENTION OF CRIMES AND APPREHENSION OF CRIMINALS.
