  • Commission: means the Public Utilities Commission created by §. See California Public Utilities Code 20
  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • County: includes city and county. See California Public Utilities Code 18
  • Establish: includes establish, construct, complete, acquire, extend or reroute. See California Public Utilities Code 98300
  • Existing system: means any transit service or system of a publicly or privately owned public utility situated entirely within the district or at least 75 percent of whose revenue vehicle miles for the preceding calendar year were operated within the district. See California Public Utilities Code 98300
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
