  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
  • Board: means the original board and any successor board selected and constituted under this chapter. See California Government Code 6599.02
  • Local agency: means any city, county, city and county, school district, special district, authority, other political subdivision of or within the state, an association or consortium of school districts formed or operating pursuant to §. See California Government Code 6599.02
  • Original board: means the first board of directors constituted and selected pursuant to Section 6599. See California Government Code 6599.02
