To assure a continuous level of competency for all state hospital treatment personnel under the jurisdiction of the State Department of Developmental Services, the department shall provide adequate in-service training programs for such state hospital treatment personnel.

Terms Used In California Welfare and Institutions Code 4498
- Department: means the State Department of Developmental Services. See California Welfare and Institutions Code 4401
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- State hospital: means any hospital specified in Section 4440. See California Welfare and Institutions Code 4401
