The Department of Public Health shall be the lead agency for the state’s emergency medical services program and shall be responsible for the planning, coordination and administration of a state-wide emergency medical care service system. The commissioner shall set policy and establish state-wide priorities for emergency medical services utilizing the services of the Department of Public Health and the emergency medical services councils, as established by § 19a-183.
