No judge of probate shall use his public office or any confidential information received through his holding public office to obtain financial gain for himself, his spouse, child, child’s spouse, parent, brother or sister, grandchild or a business with which he is or was associated. The provisions of this section shall not prohibit the employment of a relative by a judge of probate except as an employee as defined in subdivision (3) of § 45a-34.
